As a Psychiatric Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and providing treatment to patients within a healthcare facility, collaborating closely with the Medical Director and the multidisciplinary clinical team while adhering to state regulations governing Nurse Practitioners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the psychiatric care of patients in an independent inpatient psychiatric setting, working in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer and the treatment team.
  • Diagnose and manage acute, episodic, or chronic psychiatric conditions, either autonomously or as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
  • Contribute to the development of individualized Master Treatment Plans in partnership with the clinical team.
  • Evaluate, document, and manage the psychiatric health of patients, implementing strategies to address their needs.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, including observations, evaluations, and treatment plans, in compliance with facility protocols.
  • Engage with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care within established guidelines.
  • Promote family involvement in the treatment process and address educational needs of patients and their families.
  • Adhere to legal standards, hospital policies, medical staff bylaws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver services that comply with state regulations for Nurse Practitioners.
  • Fulfill on-call duties as scheduled by the medical staff.
  • Focus on health promotion and disease prevention, utilizing diagnostic tests and potentially prescribing medications.
  • Exhibit a compassionate, professional demeanor towards patients, addressing any unmet needs and prioritizing patient safety.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Nurse Practitioner programs is required.
  • Clinical experience with the facility's patient demographic, demonstrating knowledge of therapeutic boundaries, crisis intervention, and patient care principles.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse with the relevant patient population is required.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • A valid Nurse Practitioner license in accordance with state regulations is mandatory, and a current DEA license may also be required.
