Under general supervision and in accordance with established policies and procedures, this role encompasses a wide range of customer service functions and the promotion of banking products and services.
The Customer Service Representative (CSR) will execute assigned responsibilities aligned with Midstates Bank's Core Values for Customer Service and adhere to the Quality Service Standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitates account services for clients by processing deposits; cashing checks; issuing withdrawals; managing night and mail deposits; selling cashier's checks and money orders; and redeeming US savings bonds. This includes addressing inquiries and resolving issues for clients.
Records transactions by documenting cashier's checks and other specialized services; gathers necessary information to complete currency transaction reports.
Promotes banking products by responding to inquiries; informing clients about new services and product promotions; assessing clients' needs; and directing clients to a branch representative when necessary.
Handles account opening and closing tasks for both individual and business clients, including checking, savings, CDs, HSAs, and other product types; provides ongoing support for these offerings.
Completes special requests by closing accounts; processing orders for checks; providing special statements, copies, faxes, and referrals; and executing safe-deposit box procedures.
Balances cash drawer by verifying cash transactions; counting and packaging currency and coins; submitting excess cash and damaged currency to the teller manager; and maintaining an adequate supply of cash and currency.
Ensures compliance with bank operations and security protocols by participating in all dual-control functions and assisting in the certification of proof.
Maintains client confidentiality and safeguards bank operations by keeping information secure.
Contributes to team objectives by achieving related results as required.
Engages in community activities to foster growth and development within the community and enhance the bank's positive image.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Customer Service, Attention to Detail, Basic Math Skills, Effective Communication, Integrity, Understanding Customer Needs, Interpersonal Skills, Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office, Familiarity with Jack Henry SilverLake software.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Experience in cash handling and customer-facing roles.
