Key Responsibilities:
Formulates, executes, and assesses a comprehensive care plan for patients with wound care requirements and their families. Delivers education on wound, ostomy, and skin integrity matters for patients, families, and nursing personnel. The role encompasses direct patient care along with the delegation and oversight of all nursing activities.

Essential elements of the Registered Nurse position include demonstrating clinical proficiency, managing patient care, enhancing care quality, fostering professional relationships, and applying professional skills while fulfilling hospital responsibilities and developing clinical expertise in the specialty.


Required Skills:
Active and valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment is mandatory.

Current BLS certification from an approved vendor is required.

A minimum of one (1) year of experience in wound care is essential.

Certification in Wound Care within six months of hire is preferred.

Additional Qualifications/Skills:
Certification in Wound Care within six months of hire is preferred.

Prior experience in wound care or a demonstrated interest and aptitude in wound care skills. Ability to identify educational needs and instruct patients and families.

Strong communication and collaboration skills with diverse teams and individuals.

Proficient understanding and application of professional practice standards in job situations.

Ability to maintain a professional demeanor.

Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.

Capability to identify and implement components of the nursing process. Strong organizational, prioritization, and analytical skills.

Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.

Familiarity with personal computers and software applications relevant to job functions (word processing, graphics, databases, spreadsheets, etc.).
