About the Welder II Role

We are seeking a skilled Welder II to join our team at Life Fitness. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating welding equipment to produce high-quality weldments efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate piece count before each job to maintain quality standards.
  • Prepare for jobs by setting up equipment and loading/unloading jigs to optimize production.
  • Follow job guidelines for welding and inspect work for accuracy to meet customer expectations.
  • Work safely and maintain quality standards by adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Check and validate the work of other welders to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Report equipment issues, material shortages, and quality concerns to the production team.
  • Complete paperwork accurately and on time to meet administrative requirements.
  • Handle hoist and manual pallet jack operations to facilitate efficient production.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Train new welders in welding techniques to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required to support the production team.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Pass the Life Fitness Weld Test to demonstrate welding proficiency.
  • Prior MIG/Pulse welding experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Training or certification in welding is a plus, but not necessary.
  • Proficient in the English language to effectively communicate with the team.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints and work instructions to ensure accurate production.
  • Capable of lifting weights and using necessary tools to perform job duties.
Physical Demands:
  • Lift weights as required during shifts to meet production demands.
  • Engage in physical activities like bending, standing, and reaching to perform job duties.
  • Operate hoist and pallet jack as needed to facilitate efficient production.
