Financial Analysis and Reporting Position

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at MaineHealth. As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for applying principles of accounting and statistical analysis to maintain control and accountability in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Monitor and maintain control of various general ledger accounts
* Prepare journal entries and detailed reports
* Prepare financial statements and analyses reflecting financial status and activities
* Ensure timely and accurate processing of account reconciliations, billings, disbursement requests, and analyses of accounts
* Ensure compliance with various internal controls, policies, and procedures by effectively communicating and interacting with hospital departments, affiliates, and other organizations

**Requirements**

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent Advanced Accounting courses completed in a Business Degree
* C.P.A. preferred but not required
* 1-2 years of experience preferred but not required
* Knowledge and experience with mainframe and personal computers
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and IBM PCs preferred
* Analytical skills to collect pertinent information necessary to prepare, reconcile, and analyze financial statements and reports
* Understanding and ability to apply fundamental concepts and principles of fund accounting
* Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with various hospital personnel in the collection and analysis of financial data, with third parties and financial issues, and auditors and regulatory agencies when conducting hospital audits
* Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when reviewing ledgers and preparing detailed financial and statistical reports
* Ability to speak and write effectively; communicating clearly through workpaper schedules, memoranda, and discussions with management personnel
* Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
* Demonstration of integrity, maturity, dependability, stamina, tact, positive attitude, and enthusiasm in the performance of responsibilities
