Position Type: Full-time - 40 hours per week

Availability: Must be willing to work every other weekend.


Role Summary

The Resource Nurse for Admissions is primarily responsible for the prompt scheduling of in-person visits by hospice personnel for those interested in our services, ideally facilitating these meetings on the same day as the inquiry. This position is vital for enhancing our patient census in collaboration with the marketing team. Through various communication channels, this role shapes the initial impression of Hospice of the North Coast for potential clients.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma required; Associate Degree in Nursing preferred, with additional coursework in healthcare-related fields strongly encouraged.


Licensure: California RN License/CHPN preferred.


Experience: A minimum of two years in a healthcare setting is required, with at least one year in hospice care preferred. A proven record of exceptional customer service is essential.


Core Competencies:

Familiarity with hospice regulations, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance policies. Ability to respond promptly to the needs of healthcare providers, discharge planners, long-term care partners, patients, and their families. Proficiency in coordinating services with referral sources, hospice staff, patients, and families. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others; maintaining a calm demeanor and positive outlook is crucial. Excellent listening abilities, creativity, and problem-solving skills are vital due to the urgent nature of this role. Must possess or quickly develop skills to navigate various spreadsheets and our electronic medical record system.
