Environmental Scientist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geologist/Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Site Assessment and Remediation Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing and overseeing field work, preparing technical reports, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct remedial investigation projects in accordance with PA Act 2 and Storage Tank Programs, including field documentation, analysis of environmental data, fate and transport analysis, receptor surveys, and technical report writing.
• Oversee Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Supervise field sampling during remediation, including excavation, system installation, UST removals, subsurface injections, and operations & maintenance.
• Manage field health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying business opportunities and contributing to business development efforts.

Requirements

• BS Degree in Geology or related scientific or technical field.
• Pennsylvania Professional Geologist license or appropriate coursework and experience to sit for PG exam.
• At least 7 years of experience in conducting environmental investigations, with a strong understanding of PA Act 2 and Storage Tank regulations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical writing.
• Experience in field sampling of environmental media (soil, water, air, waste).
• Ability to lift/carry field equipment up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to access remote locations and sites for sampling.
• Familiarity with AutoCad and/or GIS is a plus.
• OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour Certification is preferred.
