Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Inpatient Coder to join our team at Shuvel Digital. As an experienced coder, you will be responsible for assigning accurate and consistent diagnostic and procedural codes to patient charts of high complexity.

Responsibilities
  • Assign ICD-10 CM diagnosis codes and ICD 10 PCS procedure codes for assigned accounts with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Review medical records and applicable documentation to determine the most appropriate codes to assign.
  • Maintain productivity standards and meet deadlines while ensuring a 95% accuracy rate.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in coding practices and provide education and training to new hires as needed.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in acute care hospital settings.
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10 CM/PCS coding principles, DRG assignment, MCC/CC capture, and federal regulations.
  • Proficiency in EHR systems, encoder software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A high-level coding accuracy, critical thinking skills, and strong interpersonal communication skills.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
