As a key member of the MRI department, the MRI Lead Technologist will play a vital role in ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging services. This position emphasizes MR safety and collaboration with fellow technologists to deliver exceptional patient care while maintaining confidentiality and comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee MR safety protocols and provide technical guidance to team members.
- Collaborate with MRI staff to enhance patient care and uphold safety standards.
- Operate MRI scanners efficiently and effectively.
- Communicate with hospital leadership, nursing staff, and other medical imaging professionals.
- Lead patient vetting processes to ensure safety and suitability for MRI procedures.
- Manage scheduling for MRI staff and coordinate IV starts as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and ACR standards.
- Engage in various additional responsibilities as required.

The successful candidate will be a team-oriented individual with excellent communication skills, capable of fostering a positive and caring environment. A strong interest in all aspects of the role, including patient safety, imaging preparation, and post-processing, is essential.

Work Schedule:
This position requires availability for three days a week, with shifts from 7 AM to 7:30 PM. The role includes expectations for overnight call rotations and holiday coverage.
Equipment Utilized:
The MRI department is equipped with advanced technology, including GE 450W 1.5T and Siemens Aura 1.5T MRI scanners, along with Cerner RIS and Synapse PACS.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess national certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or relevant licensure. Advanced certification in MRI is required, along with BLS certification. A minimum of three years of clinical experience is necessary, demonstrating effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field and prior supervisory experience are preferred. Additional education and experience in the field are advantageous.
