Cybersecurity Application Security Engineer

Position Overview: As a Cybersecurity Application Security Engineer, you will be responsible for developing robust security engineering solutions and frameworks that optimize our security programs. Your role will involve risk remediation and the mitigation of operational risks within a dynamic environment by leveraging technology and effective systems design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Security Consultation: Provide expert advice and recommendations to enhance the organization's security posture, identify vulnerabilities, and ensure compliance with enterprise policies throughout the application lifecycle.
- Documentation and Knowledge Management: Maintain comprehensive documentation, including runbooks and knowledge bases, to capture best practices and standard operating procedures, facilitating effective knowledge sharing across teams.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and analyze root causes of vulnerabilities marked as false positives to improve detection accuracy.
- Incident Response: Engage in incident response activities, including the investigation and resolution of security incidents.
- Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with peers across the organization to enhance collaborative engineering efforts.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Experience in writing CI/CD pipeline integrations for at least 3 years.
- Familiarity with build, deploy, and release pipeline best practices.
- Proficient in Git SCM and branching strategies.
- Knowledge of SAST, DAST, SCA, and API Security.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with GitLab.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, or .NET.
- Understanding of container security.
- Familiarity with Web Application Security and OWASP Top 10.
- Foundational knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Exposure to Atlassian tools (JIRA/Confluence).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Up to 10% travel may be required.
