Position Overview:

The role involves overseeing the medical management of employees injured in the workplace, engaging in case management through both telephonic and face-to-face interactions with affected individuals and healthcare providers. This position is responsible for collaborating with employers and claims specialists to facilitate medical care aimed at reintegrating injured employees back into the workforce. The position entails travel within a designated radius.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating medical assessments and treatment plans
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals and injured employees to establish treatment objectives and return-to-work strategies
  • Keeping employers and referral sources informed about medical care and work status
  • Coordinating additional services such as home health care, durable medical equipment, and rehabilitation therapies. Engaging with employers to clarify job requirements and explore modified or alternative job opportunities.
  • Reviewing and discussing treatment outcomes with healthcare providers and injured employees, utilizing Evidence-Based Guidelines to ensure effective results.
  • Documenting observations, assessments, and care plans related to case management.
  • Preparing reports for referral sources to convey case progress and recommendations.
  • Maintaining ongoing communication with referral sources, employers, healthcare providers, injured employees, and other stakeholders involved in the treatment process.
  • Participating in telephonic case discussions as needed.
  • Managing a caseload of at least 35 cases, ensuring a minimum of 145 billable hours monthly, with a compliance rate of at least 95%.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a nursing or medical degree from an accredited institution, along with an active Registered Nursing license or medical license in the relevant state.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Commitment to completing necessary training to uphold proficiency and licensing standards.
  • Willingness to travel for appointments within an approximate 2-hour radius.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience in Workers' Compensation is advantageous.
  • Certification in a related field is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of clinical experience is desirable.
