The role of the System Security Engineer (SSE) is critical in delivering Technology Protection and engineering assistance to an Army acquisition initiative. This position plays a vital role in protecting essential technologies, pinpointing security weaknesses, and proposing suitable countermeasures along with program protection methodologies. Key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting program protection strategies within the systems engineering plan (SEP), program protection plan (PPP), and system security plan (SSP).
  • Conducting analysis and supporting program protection requirements evaluation.
  • Offering technical guidance to detect vulnerabilities and suggest security measures.
  • Facilitating system threat evaluations, vulnerability detection, and security testing and assessment.
  • Providing expert knowledge in System Security Engineering during discussions and through various adaptive acquisition framework pathways.

Essential Qualifications:

U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitive nature of customer-related obligations.

Applicants should hold a master's or bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline along with pertinent experience. A Top Secret clearance is mandatory for this position. Furthermore, candidates must possess a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and be well-versed in security requirements such as anti-tamper, exportability features, and cybersecurity practices. Completion of DAU Courses like ACQ 160 or ENG 260 is highly regarded.
