Role Summary:

The Safety and Security Specialist is responsible for maintaining a secure and safe environment for all patients, visitors, and staff through a combination of vigilance and empathetic service.

This position is integral to a team that embodies the values of the organization, demonstrating a positive demeanor in all interactions while on duty.

The specialist effectively balances the requirements of security protocols with a respectful and understanding approach towards individuals in the healthcare environment.

This role is pivotal in reinforcing our dedication to safety, customer service, and supportive care, reflecting our mission to compassionately safeguard and assist the individuals, property, and quality of our healthcare system.


Qualifications:

Mandatory:
High School Diploma or GED.
Possession of a valid New Jersey Driver's License, eligible for coverage by the organization's insurance provider.

Out-of-state driver's licenses must be transferred to New Jersey within a specified timeframe post-hire.

Ability to obtain certification in de-escalation training within a designated period after hiring.

Preferred:
A minimum of one year of experience in customer service, security, or military service is advantageous.
Proficiency in data entry and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Bilingual capabilities to effectively engage with a diverse community are preferred but not mandatory (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, Polish based on facility needs).

Key Responsibilities:


Conduct regular patrols and monitor facilities to ensure a secure environment for healthcare operations, adapting to various indoor and outdoor posts as necessary.

Provide exemplary customer service while remaining vigilant for potential security threats.
Manage access control systems, perform data entry, and utilize Microsoft Office for incident documentation and administrative tasks.
Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse population.
Conduct weapon screening and enforce facility policies, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Respond to emergencies, engaging in crisis de-escalation using certified techniques.
