Position: Bartender

Reports To: Restaurant Supervisor, Food & Beverage Director

Supervisory Responsibilities: Bar Back

Position Overview: Responsible for the preparation and serving of beverages to guests and servers in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Craft beverages for patrons and staff, ensuring that all necessary supplies are available while engaging with guests. It is essential to adhere to regulations by not serving alcohol to minors or intoxicated individuals. Act as a cashier for servers when required and ensure drink orders are confirmed with printed tickets.
  • Maintain a pristine bar environment by disposing of waste, cleaning glassware, and sanitizing bar and preparation areas.
  • Conduct opening and closing inventory of alcoholic beverages.
  • Due to the nature of the hospitality sector, flexibility in work schedules is necessary to meet the operational needs of the establishment. Attendance at scheduled training sessions and meetings is mandatory.
  • Support servers, fellow bartenders, and bar backs as needed.
  • Engage in the thorough cleaning of the bar area.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in basic computer operations.
  • Familiarity with all equipment related to the bar, including coffee makers and cash registers.
  • Strong understanding of drink preparation and relevant health standards.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding alcohol service.
  • Ability to work in various temperature conditions, including extreme cold and heat.
  • Capability to stand and move efficiently for extended periods.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to perform cleaning tasks that require bending and stretching.
  • Continuous communication with guests, supervisors, and team members is essential.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least one year of experience in a high-volume bar setting is necessary; customer service experience is a plus.
  • Must meet the minimum age requirement to serve alcohol.
  • All employees are expected to maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
