Position Overview: Medical Claims & Billing Coordinator
RPC Company is seeking a dedicated and experienced Claims Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is essential for managing the complexities of medical billing, claims processing, collections, and coding. Your proficiency in medical terminology, ICD-9 coding, and familiarity with dental claims will be crucial in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our billing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance providers.
- Ensure the accuracy and currency of patient medical information.
- Generate bills and invoices, documenting amounts owed for medical services rendered.
- Investigate insurance claims and liaise with relevant stakeholders.
- Research and understand the stipulations of various insurance policies.
- Collect and review referrals and pre-authorizations as necessary.
- Monitor and document late payments.
- Accurately collect and enter claim information.
- Post insurance payments and manage patient accounts effectively.
- Maintain precise financial records and payment procedures.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Medical Billing within the healthcare sector.
- Prior experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) is preferred.
- Knowledge of claims processing, with a preference for dental claims experience.
- Experience with Patient Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic accounting and bookkeeping skills.
- Understanding of industry-specific regulations, including HIPAA.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent customer service abilities, demonstrating patience and empathy.
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- In-depth knowledge of industry best practices.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
