We are seeking a highly motivated and dependable Master Woodworker to join our team at Colt Builders Corp. in the Woburn, MA area. As an entry-level opportunity, this role is perfect for individuals looking to start their career in carpentry.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in basic safety knowledge and performance, as well as appropriate knowledge of carpentry tools and skills. They should be able to demonstrate initiative on site, maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area, and possess an aptitude for learning and application of newly acquired skills.
Responsibilities
- Follow all safety procedures at all times, adhering to company protocols and guidelines.
- Execute directions given by experienced woodworkers, foremen, and site superintendents.
- Accomplish assigned tasks properly and in a timely manner, meeting or exceeding expectations.
- Assist senior woodworkers with tasks such as cutting, spreading, and framing walls, cutting to precise measurements, and laying joists on layout marks.
- Stand and secure walls, sheath roofs and decks, and participate in training new team members.
- Educate entry-level workers on safety protocols and direct proper form when protocols are not followed.
- Actively seek opportunities for growth and professional development, participating in educational programs and workshops.
Qualifications
Applicants must be able to perform duties and activities of workers supervised, demonstrating basic safety knowledge and performance. A strong understanding of carpentry tools and skills is essential, as is the ability to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
