Our HVAC mechanical services division focuses on delivering comprehensive solutions for preventative maintenance and repair, as well as upgrading existing mechanical, electrical, and control systems to optimize efficiency and meet client expectations.
Position Title: Commercial Chiller Service Technician
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on central plant equipment, including chillers of 100 tons and larger, motors, pumps, valves, controls, cooling towers, and auxiliary equipment.
- Conduct overhauls of centrifugal chillers as needed.
- Utilize rigging skills for equipment handling.
- Assist in the management of repair recommendations from initiation to completion.
- Be available for emergency service calls as part of the on-call rotation.
- Execute end-to-end testing, programming, start-ups, and commissioning of equipment.
- Plan and oversee site-wide maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks for chillers, cooling towers, and central plant systems.
- Carry out daily and monthly preventative maintenance on all related equipment.
- Ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks within the scheduled timeframe.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for all on-site equipment.
- Participate in monthly safety meetings and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate directly with the Chiller Field Supervisor on customer-related opportunities and challenges.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience at the journeyman level, along with relevant technical education.
- Experience in commercial and industrial air conditioning is essential.
- Strong knowledge of chillers, HVAC systems, and central plant operations.
- Expertise in large tonnage HVAC systems is required.
- Availability for emergency service calls as part of the normal rotation is necessary.
- Must hold EPA certification.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
- A valid driver's license is mandatory.
