Job Summary

Prime Traffic Control is seeking a highly skilled High Voltage Substation Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for estimating the cost of substation construction and maintenance projects in the eastern half of the United States.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate the cost of materials, equipment, and labor required for substation projects
  • Develop comprehensive bid schedules and proposals for clients
  • Attend customer pre-bid meetings, project walk-downs, and conferences to ensure accurate bid and project feasibility
  • Collaborate with the estimating team to develop bid schedules and proposals
  • Support the smooth exchange of project details from estimating to operations and project management teams
  • Coordinate with customers, project sponsors, managers of construction, and project teams to develop comprehensive plans for start-up and successful project kick-off
  • Facilitate communication between customer representatives, superintendents, construction managers, and subcontractors
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in high voltage substation estimating
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Highly proficient with Primavera P6
  • Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication
  • Experience working directly with customers in the estimating/development of substation-related projects
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated negotiating and decision-making skills
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Mathematical and analytical skills

  • Experience with contracts: Fixed Price, Time & Equipment, Cost Plus, and Unit
