We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Laboratory Operations Manager to lead our Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) laboratory operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the laboratory, ensuring seamless coordination and alignment of priorities across materials, design, and supply chain teams to meet business and customer objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Supervise and develop the raw material and component lab technician team, fostering a strong, inclusive, high-performing culture and creating succession plans for future growth.
- Schedule Coordination: Develop and manage the weekly lab schedule, leading and/or developing daily and weekly management rhythms to ensure proactive problem-solving and escalation.
- Customer Focus: Exercise a customer-centric approach, building relationships with internal customers and serving as an interface between internal customers and the team.
- Lab Capacity Management: Aggregate current and future demand profiles (people and equipment) and compare to lab capacity, advocating for capacity growth to meet customer/program expectations and/or additional demand to maintain lab workload.
- Education: B.S. degree in Ceramics, Composites, or Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a program or project leadership role within an engineering environment.
- Bias for Action: A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams.
- Leadership and Team Building: Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to lead teams and build strong relationships.
- Problem-Solving and Project Management: Demonstrated ability to lead teams and solve complex problems, with effective project management skills.
