Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Conductor to join our team at Watco Transloading. As a Conductor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trains and railcars.
Key Responsibilities:
- Control and coordinate train movements while switching railcars in a safe and efficient manner.
- Inspect locomotives before and after runs to ensure compliance with Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) requirements.
- Read and interpret wayside signals, track warrants, and bulletins to operate locomotives safely and efficiently.
- Communicate with crew members and other yard workers via radio to coordinate switching operations.
- Assist with throwing switches and performing other activities involved in switching operations.
- Maintain accurate records of car numbers, origin, destination, and cargo.
Requirements:
- High school education or general education development (GED).
- Ability to pass training and required testing.
