Orthopedic Joint Spine Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to deliver exceptional patient care in our newly remodeled and expanded 25-bed orthopedic joint spine unit.
About the RoleIn this role, you will provide direct nursing care to patients who are post-operative from a replacement or repair of a major joint or from a spine surgical procedure. Your primary responsibility will be to assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
You will perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record. Additionally, you will administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
Key Responsibilities- Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.

- Administer prescribed medications and monitor the patient for therapeutic response.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A graduate degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
- A current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License
- At least one year of medical-surgical experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)
- Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification
