Job Summary

The Brain Injury Program Director at River Ridge Center - Kennebunk, ME is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the nursing center's Brain Injury program. This includes training staff on the behavioral, emotional, and cognitive implications of acquired brain injury, as well as consultation with therapy and nursing staff. The successful candidate will also coordinate inpatient and outpatient neuropsychological treatment, and conduct cognitive, behavioral, and emotional screening examinations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to report on patient/resident's neuropsychological status when neuropsychological and behavioral services have been requested.
  • Serve as the community spokesperson for the Brain Injury program and participate in external marketing and educational opportunities to promote the nursing center's reputation as a regional center of excellence for brain injury rehabilitation.
  • Collaborate with the nursing center medical director and the Vice President of Medical Affairs to provide clinical expertise to nursing center and regional clinical staff.
  • Assure compliance with regulatory requirements and participate in the survey process.
  • Monitor the utilization and quality outcomes achieved by the Brain Injury program.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Doctorate in Psychology.
  • Five years of direct experience with patients with brain injuries.
  • State licensure as a licensed Clinical Psychologist.
