Job Description

At Packaging Exchange Inc., we are seeking a skilled CDL Class A Truck Driver to join our team. As a Local CDL Class A Truck Driver, you will be responsible for delivering goods to our customers in a safe and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Meet delivery schedules set by dispatch and ensure timely delivery of goods
  • Report any defects, accidents, or violations to the appropriate authorities
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and any equipment assigned
  • Comply with all federal and state regulations, as well as company policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • CDL Class A license required
  • 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years
  • 5 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of the job

Physical Requirements:

  • The team member must be able to see and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks in a safe manner using tuck-under lift gates
  • The associate must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area.
