Job Summary

DSV is seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Specialist, Inventory Planner to join our team. As a key member of our Solutions division, you will be responsible for performing inventory planning activities, including material stocking level and consumption analysis, and generating purchase requisitions to ensure all required materials are available to support operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze replenishment data to optimize inventory levels and ensure adequate supply of material to service customer needs
  • Generate reports in our ERP system and export to Excel, reviewing and analyzing data to respond accordingly
  • Initiate, review, and process purchase demand/requisitions to ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Manage inventory levels and planning, matching forecast demand with on-hand, on-order, or in-transit quantities
  • Communicate effectively with clients, both verbally and in writing, to provide exceptional customer service
  • Act as the primary customer contact regarding forecast, new part adds, Min/Max levels, reorder points, backorders, obsolescence, etc.
  • Collaborate with engineers, tool owners, buyers, and commodity managers to review forecast, consumption history, material changes, new part adds, etc.
  • Work closely with warehouse, shipping/receiving staff to process material returns/repairs, which may include packing, preparing material for shipment, and communication with suppliers
  • Inform the appropriate individuals (buyers, site leads, managers) of any issues related to material shortages that may cause an out-of-stock or machine-down situation
  • Coordinate and perform cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure the accuracy of inventory assets
  • Research and reconcile inventory inaccuracies
  • Maintain accurate and timely data in our ERP system, including master records, BOMs, etc.
  • Manage material quality issues, providing strategic analysis and recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives
  • Identify and develop material savings projects to generate cost savings and efficiency improvements
Requirements

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 2 years of professional experience; or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Three (3) years of industry experience in a direct or cross-functional capacity
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Computer Skills
  • Intermediate level in Microsoft Office Suite with demonstrated proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookup formulas, etc.)
  • ERP system experience
Language Skills

English (reading, writing, verbal)

Mathematical Skills

Intermediate mathematical problem-solving

Other Skills
  • Knowledge of Purchasing, Inventory Control, and Materials Management methods, principles, and practices
  • Ability to work as a team member and foster a cooperative work environment while also being an individual contributor
  • Effective professional written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
  • 2 years of planning experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses their hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses computer and telephone equipment. The employee also regularly lifts and/or moves objects up to 10 pounds. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
