Patient Access Representative

Amberwell Health is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration and admission process for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Accurately complete patient registration and/or status, including insurance and collection of co-pays.
- Promptly enter patient charges into the computer system.
- Order and stock departmental supplies.
- Maintain an accurate and organized work station and filing system.
- Efficiently manage the health information management system.
- Answer, screen, and direct incoming telephone calls, utilizing paging and emergency alert systems as needed.
- Take specimens to the lab as requested.
- Obtain charts, x-rays, supplies, and equipment as needed.
- Maintain departmental log books and other records as required.
- Ensure the on-call schedule for providers and hospital departments is up-to-date and distributed as necessary.
- Maintain staff schedules and operations of the ED access department.
- Keep the Manager informed of any staff or department issues and work to resolve them.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. The Patient Access Representative must be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with patients, families, visitors, and healthcare team members.
