Sign Language Interpreter Professional

Job Description:
Sorenson Communications is seeking skilled Sign Language Interpreters to provide high-quality interpreting services for our Video Relay Service (VRS) program. As an ASL Interpreting Services Specialist, you will facilitate communication between Deaf and hearing individuals, ensuring seamless and accurate interactions.
Essential Duties:
- Interpret between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English, maintaining high levels of accuracy and fluency.
- Comply with Sorenson standards, FCC regulations, and the RID Code of Professional Conduct.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting to changing situations and priorities.
- Enhance interpreting skills through ongoing education and training.
- Meet or exceed productivity and quality standards, as defined by Sorenson.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of ASL and its nuances, including grammar, vocabulary, and non-manual markers.
- Ability to pass the required skills assessment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Interpreter certification (e.g., NIC, CI, or SC:L/MH).
- 3 years of experience working as an interpreter (preferred).
