Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical Unit at Methodist Hospitals. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and contribute to providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications within the scope of practice and hospital policies.
- Assess and evaluate patient physical and mental status.
- Identify patient care requirements and work with multidisciplinary teams to resolve patient problems.
- Promote patient independence by establishing care goals and teaching patients and significant others.
- Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and measuring health outcomes.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and protocols.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and protect operations by keeping information secure.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results measured by Press Ganey/HCAPS, AIDET, and Model of Care and Conduct.

- Thorough knowledge of medical equipment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to administer medications per policy and procedure.
- Ability to follow National Patient Safety Goals.
- Ability to interpret lab and diagnostic results.
- Ability to communicate with all disciplines using SBAR.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrates courteous, kind, and caring attitude and support to the organization.
- Clinical skills, Bedside Manner, Infection Control, Nursing Skills, Physiological Knowledge, Administering Medication, Medical Teamwork, Multi-tasking, Listening, Verbal Communication, Health Promotion and Maintenance.
- ED/ICU Requirement: ACLS MED SURG AREAS Requirement: BLS College Diploma Nursing Required

- Bachelors Nursing Preferred
