Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Bus Driver to transport students to and from school, as well as on special events and trips. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of students, while also maintaining a clean and well-maintained bus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a school bus safely and efficiently along designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
  • Pick up and drop off students at designated locations, ensuring their safety and security at all times
  • Perform pre-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in good working condition
  • Report any operating or equipment deficiencies to the supervisor
  • Wash and clean the bus regularly, both inside and out
  • Fuel the bus as needed, and maintain accurate records of fuel usage
Requirements:
  • Valid Virginia commercial driver's license with P & S endorsements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Behind-the-wheel training with and without students onboard
  • Ability to pass physical examination, including vision and hearing tests
  • Good driving record and ability to maintain a satisfactory driving record
Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this job include:

  • Moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds) and carrying of objects
  • Climbing, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, and repetitive motions
  • Vocal communication and ability to convey instructions loudly or quickly
  • Ambulatory mobility and ability to walk and stand for extended periods
Work Environment:

This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions, with exposure to noise, vibration, and atmospheric conditions. The worker may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and required to wear specialized personal protective equipment.
