Key Responsibilities:
- Take charge of the care for patients being treated by Physical Therapist Assistants and Therapy technicians. May be responsible for orienting staff and students and fulfilling supervisory duties in the absence of the supervisor.
- Evaluate patients' needs; identify and implement suitable physical therapy interventions; work in harmony with other healthcare team members to uphold professional physical therapy standards and promote interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Monitor and assess treatment effectiveness, achieving both short-term and long-term goals. Suggest modifications to the physician as necessary.
- Conduct thorough assessments on each patient and perform regular reassessments as per established protocols. Ensure accurate and timely quality improvement scoring. The patient demographic includes adults and geriatrics requiring medical rehabilitation services.
- Evaluate patient pain that may hinder optimal functioning and participation in rehabilitation; implement appropriate interventions to alleviate pain; communicate with physicians for further intervention when necessary.
- Develop and revise individualized care plans for physical therapy.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Valid licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of practice.
- Experience in inpatient rehabilitation is preferred.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
