Position Overview:
Support the enforcement and compliance of company policies regarding Environmental Health & Safety and risk management on construction sites. Aid in the identification, mitigation, and management of hazardous conditions that could result in injuries or property damage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in delivering training on safe work practices and implementing project safety initiatives and Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) protocols for construction teams.
  • Review subcontractor safety programs to ensure they meet company standards and comply with relevant regulations.
  • Evaluate subcontractor training programs in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Promote safe work practices and conditions in alignment with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Help administer the drug screening program as per company and project owner standards.
  • Coordinate preconstruction meetings with supervisors.
  • Facilitate an effective orientation program for new workers and maintain records of participation.
  • Collect Pre-Task Plans (PTPs) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) from contractors as required.
  • Maintain safety documentation, including training records and incident reports.
  • Conduct safety meetings and document outcomes as directed.
  • Keep a log of subcontractor toolbox safety meetings and summarize findings for supervisors.
  • Perform project site safety audits and inspections, providing reports and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Identify and report safety violations or unsafe practices, particularly those posing imminent danger.
  • Engage in other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field, with at least 1 year of relevant construction safety experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Fundamental understanding of safety and environmental principles.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and local Environmental Health & Safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with general construction operations.
  • Ability to recognize safety hazards and suggest corrective measures.
  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills to foster professional relationships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capacity to follow directions and fulfill commitments.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.
  • Limited travel may be necessary; reliable transportation is required.
Physical Demands:
The physical requirements for this role include the ability to navigate construction sites, utilize ladders, and perform various physical tasks. Regular mobility is essential, along with the capability to lift and move items up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:
Employees will work primarily at construction sites, facing exposure to various environmental factors and noise levels. Compliance with safety policies and regulations is mandatory.
