Position Overview

Advanced Pain Management of Virginia is seeking skilled medical professionals to enhance our dedicated team. We are focused on providing exceptional care in the field of pain management.

The ideal candidate will have completed their training in the specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) and may possess subspecialty certifications in areas such as Brain Injury Medicine, Neuromuscular Medicine, Pain Medicine, Spinal Cord Injury Medicine, and/or Sports Medicine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive treatment to patients across all age groups.
  • Emphasize functional recovery in treatment plans.
  • Utilize broad medical knowledge to address disabling conditions throughout a patient's life.
  • Diagnose and manage pain stemming from injuries, illnesses, or disabilities.
  • Develop and oversee individualized treatment and prevention strategies.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physical and occupational therapists.
  • Collaborate with various specialists, including primary care physicians and orthopedic surgeons.
  • Adopt a holistic approach to patient care, addressing the entire individual rather than just specific symptoms.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster connections with patients and colleagues.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on achieving results and resolving challenges.
  • Proficiency in EMG/Nerve Conduction Studies.
  • Experience with ultrasound and fluoroscopy-guided procedures.
  • Expertise in spinal injections and related techniques.
  • Knowledge of Discography, Disc Decompression, and Vertebroplasty/Kyphoplasty.
  • Familiarity with nerve stimulators, blocks, and ablation procedures.
  • Experience in joint injections and Prolotherapy.
  • Competence in spasticity treatments, including botulinum toxin injections.
  • Understanding of manual medicine and osteopathic techniques.
  • Knowledge of complementary and alternative medicine practices.
  • Experience in disability and impairment assessments.
  • Ability to provide medicolegal consulting.
