World Vision is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Global Health Research Assistant to support our research initiatives in the field of nutrition and health. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including evaluating the effectiveness of innovative approaches to address adolescent anemia in Mozambique, and assessing the performance of a multi-diagnostic pulse oximeter during sick child visits in Burundi.
Key Responsibilities- Liaise with Principal Investigators and Research Coordinators to support research activities and analyze qualitative data collected through Focus Group Discussions, Individual Interviews, and household surveys.
- Participate in weekly study calls/meetings and become familiar with the study protocol, including use of consent/assent forms.
- Increase knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
- Develop skills in qualitative data analysis, including use of the software MaxQDA.
- Develop skills in quantitative data analysis, including use of the software SPSS.
- Code focus group transcripts and individual transcripts for key themes using a Code Book developed by the Principal Investigator, when needed.
- Support the writing up of key findings generated through the qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
- Master's in Public Health: Currently enrolled in or completed a Master's program in Public Health.
- Research Methodologies: Proficient in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Global Health and Nutrition: Possess knowledge in global health and nutrition.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Ability to maintain cultural sensitivity while collaborating with international staff.
- Clarity in Complex Ideas: Ability to simplify complex concepts and ideas into clear and concise communications.
- Independent and Virtual Team Player: Capable of working autonomously and thriving in a virtual team environment.
- Responsibility and Enthusiasm: You are responsible, responsive, and enthusiastic about using your God-given talents to positively impact the world.
- Commitment to our Mission: You have a demonstrated commitment to and alignment with the goals, mission, and vision of World Vision, embodying its values in all aspects of your work.

- Current student or recent graduate from a graduate programme (within 2 years).
- Adhere to World Vision International's Christian Statement of Faith.
- Willingness to use own electronic devices for internship purposes, and disposition to let WVI install endpoint security software in those devices.
