Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Chemistry Instructor to join our team at Yuba College. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering instructional lectures for Chemistry courses, organizing and teaching all levels of Chemistry classes, and assessing student learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Chemistry courses up to 10 hours/week
  • Organize and teach all levels of Chemistry classes
  • Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning
  • Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses
  • Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester
  • Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired
Requirements
  • Master's in chemistry OR
  • Bachelor's in chemistry or biochemistry AND
  • Master's in biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical physics, physics, molecular biology, or geochemistry
  • OR the equivalent
Preferred Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates with life or teaching experience that demonstrates the clear ability to teach Chemistry to community college students.
