Healthcare Support Specialist

Bon Secours is a leading healthcare provider dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. We are seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at St. Mary's Richmond.
The estimated annual salary for this position is $55,000-$65,000, depending on experience and qualifications. As a Healthcare Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support to patients and their families.
Job Summary
A Healthcare Support Specialist provides basic health care and support to patients under the guidance of a registered nurse or designated healthcare professional. This includes sanitizing and cleaning patients' rooms, monitoring patients' health and vital signs, and assisting patients with basic needs like feeding and grooming. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing basic patient care, including care and comfort, vital sign measurement, personal care and hygiene, and assisting with mobility.
- Serving as a liaison between patients and nurses to report changes and concerns.
- Providing high-level customer service to all patients, families, visitors, and employees.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful as a Healthcare Support Specialist, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to working in a rapidly changing environment. Relevant experience in acute care, physician's offices, home health/hospice, or long-term care facilities is preferred. A Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA), or equivalent certification is also required.
