Role Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Step Down Unit is responsible for providing safe and efficient patient care, adhering to established standards and utilizing the nursing process within the scope of Registered Nursing practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive care plans based on assessment data
  • Deliver and manage patient care
  • Evaluate and adjust care plans as necessary
  • Participate in staff development initiatives

  • Maintain a skills roster

Compensation placement is determined by various factors, including relevant experience and qualifications. Additional compensation opportunities may be available, such as shift differentials and bonuses. Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening
  • Successful completion of pre-employment criminal background check
  • Successful completion of pre-employment health evaluation, including TB screening
  • Minimum one year of experience in pediatric and/or women's health preferred
  • Availability to work every other weekend and flexible scheduling

Education and Licensure:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required unless waived by nurse executive council
  • Current California Registered Nurse license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Completion of unit orientation and clinical competency validation
  • Additional certifications required within six months of hire or transfer
