Job Description

We are currently seeking an Armed K9 Officer to work in a premium retail environment.
Previous experience with canines is not mandatory, as training will be provided.
Daily allowances for canine care are included, along with all necessary training and equipment.

Compensation:
$27.50 per hour

Location:
Various retail sites
Applicants must have prior professional firearm experience (Law Enforcement, Military, or 3+ years in Armed Security).
Company vehicle provided for personal use.
All necessary equipment will be supplied.

As a K9 Security Officer, you will be responsible for delivering K9 services at designated locations.

This position entails managing assigned deployments and established patrols, as well as the care, custody, and control of a company-owned canine, ensuring proper housing and transportation standards.

The K9 Officer is expected to uphold K9 Team training standards (as defined by Allied Universal), coordinate training, track K9 team financials, and maintain vehicle maintenance records.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Deploy and patrol with K9 at assigned locations
• Conduct routine and prescribed searches utilizing the K9
• Maintain K9 Team training standards
• Perform administrative tasks, including cost tracking, incident reports, daily activity logs, training logs, and vehicle maintenance logs
• Stay informed on contemporary K9 tactics
• Serve as a liaison with clients, senior corporate staff, and Allied Universal field management
• Develop and present K9 demonstrations to new clients and the public
• Travel nationally as required

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no major violations within the last 36 months, no more than one accident in the last 24 months, and no more than one minor moving violation in the last 24 months)
• Licensing requirements may vary based on state and/or local laws and regulations
• Maintain K9 team certifications as mandated by Allied Universal
• Successfully complete 9 weeks of training post-hire, which includes:
• National K9 certifications
• Operational K9 Training
• Defense tactics
• Firearms training
• First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training
• OC Spray
• ASP Baton
• Driver's training
• Minimum of three (3) years of security experience
• Proven ability to take initiative, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines effectively
• Highly organized with the ability to keep management informed with necessary information
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and adept at utilizing office management technology
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in dual-purpose (patrol/detection) K9 handling

Additional Considerations:
• Service in any military branch (including Guard and Reserve)
• Law enforcement experience with completion of an accredited Law Enforcement Academy
• Experience as a municipal or federal correctional officer, having attended a full-time accredited LE/Corrections Academy
• Experience in Armed Security (private or contracted)
