Teppan Chef

Benihana National Corp is seeking a skilled Teppan Chef to join our team. As a Teppan Chef, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional dining experience to our guests. Your expertise in Japanese cuisine and ability to entertain and perform in front of guests will make you a valuable asset to our team.

Responsibilities:

* Prepare and cook hot meals on hibachi tables directly in front of guests
* Maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen area and hibachi tables
* Prepare and set up food for cooking and side orders
* Engage and entertain guests, providing a unique dining experience

Requirements:

* Minimum of 1 year experience in cooking
* Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor during stressful and/or busy times
* Ability to entertain and perform in front of guests
* Must be able to work as part of a team and recognize the importance of each team member's role in the guest dining experience
* Ability to prepare food for consumption with background knowledge of proper techniques and equipment to be used
* Knowledge of industry standards on food storage and handling, techniques are highly desirable
* Exercise sound judgment and possess good problem-solving skills
* Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry required
* Where applicable, holds a state and/or local food handlers card
* Must be 18 years of age or older or in accordance with state law
* High School diploma or GED preferred. An equivalent combination of education/experience will be considered
* Must be eligible to work in the United States
* Must be able to work different shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends. Must be able to work overtime as required
