POSITION OVERVIEW: Under general supervision, the role encompasses a diverse range of cleaning responsibilities aimed at ensuring a hygienic, organized, and secure environment. This is a full-time position during the second shift and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Thoroughly clean and disinfect restrooms and bathrooms following established protocols;
  • Dust, clean, and wipe down furniture; sweep, mop, and/or vacuum floors; empty and sanitize wastebaskets and trash receptacles; replenish restroom supplies;
  • Carry out cleaning duties in and around campus facilities; assist with setup and breakdown for various campus and community events; collaborate closely with staff and the public to address custodial needs; troubleshoot issues to ensure smooth and safe operations;
  • Strip, clean, and polish floors, and vacuum and shampoo carpets as necessary;
  • Utilize and maintain assigned cleaning equipment and tools, including buffers, vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the upkeep of floors, walls, carpets, and furniture;
  • Wash walls and equipment; operate cleaning machinery in compliance with OSHA and institutional safety guidelines when required;
  • Secure and unlock designated buildings; ensure safety of facilities when not in use by checking for unlocked doors, reporting unauthorized individuals, and turning off lights;
  • Adhere to instructions regarding the use of cleaning agents and supplies in line with OSHA and institutional safety protocols;
  • Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools as needed;
  • Wash accessible interior and exterior windows and clean associated blinds as required;
  • Manage waste and recycling materials in accordance with proper disposal practices;
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance; and
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the work unit.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.

Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of custodial experience is preferred, particularly in an educational setting with knowledge of cleaning products and the operation of floor and carpet cleaning equipment.
