POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Grounds Maintenance Technician will oversee the upkeep and management of all landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks for the assigned contract and will serve as the primary contact for the Project Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the landscaping of various properties, including industrial, commercial, or public spaces such as buildings, parks, playgrounds, and athletic fields.
  • Perform repairs on structures and equipment, which may include mowing grass, trimming hedges, and maintaining flowerbeds using appropriate tools.
  • Conduct snow removal and ice management on walkways around all designated buildings to ensure safety for personnel and equipment.
  • Plant and maintain grass, flowers, and shrubs, ensuring proper watering and care during dry periods, and manage litter and debris removal.
  • Assist in the fertilization and herbicide application for lawns, shrubs, and trees using appropriate equipment.
  • Support the repair of roads, walkways, and buildings, and maintain cleanliness in comfort stations, offices, and parking areas.
  • Adhere to OSHA and company safety protocols.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within a team environment, maintaining a customer-focused approach.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance/Control principles is preferred.
  • Maintain a valid state-issued driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Comply with any required security clearance and adhere to the Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Follow Operations Security (OPSEC) standard operating procedures.
  • Adhere to the Property Control Plan for managing Government Furnished Property (GFP).
  • Comply with safety and health programs in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP).
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Project Manager/Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Skills and Abilities:
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a commercial grounds maintenance setting.
