Medical Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to support our team in delivering high-quality diagnostic services. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in laboratory practices and a commitment to delivering accurate results.
Key Responsibilities:- Sample Collection and Preparation: Collect, process, and prepare biological specimens for analysis, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
- Label and document specimens accurately to maintain proper chain of custody and traceability.
- Testing and Analysis: Perform a range of laboratory tests, including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and serology, utilizing various laboratory instruments.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshooting issues as they arise to ensure optimal performance.
- Quality Control: Conduct routine quality control checks to verify the accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and comply with laboratory standards and regulations.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tests performed, including results and any deviations from protocols.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines, adhering to laboratory policies and procedures.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other laboratory personnel, pathologists, and healthcare providers to facilitate efficient workflow and accurate diagnoses.
- Communicate test results and any concerns to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Mentorship and Training: Assist in training and mentoring new staff and interns, promoting adherence to best practices and laboratory protocols.
- Stay updated on advancements in laboratory technology and techniques.
- Education: Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical laboratory setting, with a strong foundation in laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Certifications: No ASCP license is required for this position.
- Skills: Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment and instruments. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with team members and healthcare providers.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity. Capability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform tasks involving fine motor skills.
