Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced automotive technician to join our award-winning, high-volume service team at Morristown Chevrolet, a Hudson Automotive Company. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.

Responsibilities
  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with the dealership.
  • Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers of any additional service needed and provide an estimate of time required for additional repairs.
  • Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
  • Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Document all work performed on the repair order.
  • Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by the service manager.
  • Keep abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
  • Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean and notify the service advisor immediately of any changes to the vehicle's appearance or condition.
  • Keep the shop area neat and clean and maintain and be accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.
  • Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know.
  • Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner and report any safety issues immediately to management.
Requirements
  • 3-5+ years of previous automotive technician experience required.
  • Chevrolet experience preferred.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing, including background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver's license.
