Job SummaryThe Pharmacy Buyer will be responsible for negotiating and procuring medications and supplies from vendors, ensuring proper storage and inventory management. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities- Procure medications from wholesalers and manufacturers based on established or projected inventory needs
- Negotiate with pharmaceutical vendors to secure the best prices and services
- Investigate vendor qualifications to ensure adequate service and quality
- Manage inventory levels to minimize waste and ensure timely processing of invoices
- Prepare reports for management on purchasing activities and cost savings
- Collaborate with staff to provide education and training on medication processes
- Establish and maintain policies and procedures for inventory management and purchasing
- Bachelor's degree in purchasing, business, law, economics, or marketing
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the California State Board of Pharmacy
- Minimum of two years' experience as a pharmacy buyer in a healthcare facility
This role requires standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling, as well as other physical demands.
