Unit OverviewThe Surgical Intermediate Care Unit at Nemours Children's Health is a high-acuity unit that provides care to patients requiring post-operative care for urological issues, traumatic injuries, and general surgery. Our team also cares for patients with acute and end-stage renal disease, as well as those requiring an intermediate level of nursing care due to tracheostomy and/or ventilator needs.
Responsibilities- Provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care to a diverse patient population
- Manage chest tubes, pain, blood products, urinary catheterization, tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and central line care and management
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to make appropriate patient assignments based on patient and family needs and nursing skill set
- BSN preferred; associate's degree with a commitment to obtain BSN within three years
- Pediatric experience preferred
- At least 6 months of nursing experience required
- Bilingual preferred
- Must be eligible for or have current DE nursing license
- Must have BLS certification through the American Heart Association
