Key Responsibilities:
1. Execute treatment simulations based on physician directives.
2. Conduct dosimetric calculations under the guidance of a physicist or dosimetrist, utilizing both manual and computerized methods.
3. Ensure accurate delivery of prescribed radiation therapy.
4. Assist in Brachytherapy procedures.
5. Prepare treatment machines and simulators, verifying all safety and operational protocols; report any irregularities to the physicist.
6. Check laser positioning for correct alignment.
7. Validate dosage through barometric and thermometer measurements, addressing any discrepancies with the physicist.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate from an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program.
- Licenses/Certifications: Must be a Certified Radiation Therapist by the American Registry of Radiation Therapy Technologists (ARRT-T) or possess temporary certification for recent graduates, valid for up to 60 days post-graduation, and licensed by the Texas Department of Health (CMRT).
- Experience: 1-2 years in Radiation Therapy; 3-5 years preferred.
