Role Summary – Procurement Specialist/ Buyer III

This role involves providing procurement assistance for the Business Unit, which includes the placement, expediting, and management of both routine and complex purchase and service orders. A strong customer-centric approach is essential, as collaboration with various personnel within the Business Unit is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitates the procurement of materials, equipment, and consumables by employing appropriate procurement strategies, including bidding, contracting, and ordering.
  • Engages in negotiations with suppliers on behalf of the Business Unit regarding commercial and operational aspects of orders, ensuring all purchase and service orders contain the correct terms and conditions.
  • Stays informed about advancements and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Supports Global Procurement initiatives, including e-Procurement, compliance, and inventory management programs.
  • Assists accounts payable by providing consultancy on procurement-related issues and directing invoicing concerns to the appropriate internal entity.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert on procurement processes and systems, resolving vendor supply and invoicing challenges.
  • Manages the MRP process in SAP and coordinates the repair of stock items as necessary.
  • Facilitates the implementation of new processes or technologies as required.
  • Ensures adherence to internal controls and implements audit recommendations.
  • Manages health, environmental, and safety risks associated with the role.
  • Assists warehouse staff with issues related to goods receiving and ordering.
