We are seeking a seasoned Personal Injury Attorney to join our dynamic team with extensive Jones Act and Maritime experience. This is a permanent position within our legal department where you will be primarily responsible for handling a variety of personal injury cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or argue for plaintiff's rights.
  • Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
  • Analyzing probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents.
  • Evaluating findings and developing strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
  • Preparing and drafting legal documents, such as wills, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts.
  • Negotiating settlements of civil disputes, mediating between involved parties.
  • Conducting legal research and gathering evidence.
  • Ensuring the seamless transition of cases from discovery to trial phase.
  • Preparing pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Handling all aspects of litigation, including taking and defending depositions.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Personal Injury Attorney.
  • Active membership of the state Bar.
  • Proven experience with Plaintiff, Mediation, Legal Writing, pleadings, and Jones Act.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
  • High level of initiative and works well in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Handles stressful situations and deadline pressures well.
  • Plans and carries out responsibilities with minimal direction.
