Job Summary

Niece Equipment is seeking a skilled Shop and Field Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic tests, repairing and maintaining heavy equipment, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance procedures and diagnose issues with heavy equipment
  • Repair and replace damaged parts and systems
  • Operate a mobile service vehicle and travel to customer locations to perform field services
  • Work closely with the Service Manager and Dispatcher to ensure timely completion of jobs
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure seamless service delivery
Requirements
  • Must be over 18 years of age
  • Self-starter with strong mechanical aptitude and excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work closely with other team members to meet company goals
  • Ability to operate a variety of equipment in the field and on customer job sites
  • Ability to communicate in a written format clearly and concisely
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic Diesel Mechanic with 2-3 years of experience
  • Diesel Certification a plus
  • Heavy Machinery and Heavy Trucks a plus
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move items or bulky objects up to 70 pounds
  • Ability to perform the repeated motions of reaching, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, and climbing beside, onto, and under a variety of heavy equipment
  • Ability to work inside and in an outside environment with inclement weather conditions
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work overtime and/or Saturdays based on customer demand or as needed
  • Ability to travel or make overnight stays on or near job sites when required
  • Ability to work alone onsite and offsite
  • Ability to work under trucks and to climb heights (ladders, on top of diesel trucks) and balance (on top of truck, ladder, etc.)
