Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Travel Nurse RN for a critical role within our healthcare system. This position is based in the Inpatient Oncology unit, which is designed to provide exceptional care to adult patients dealing with hematology and oncology conditions.

Certification Requirements

Applicants must possess the following certifications:

  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
  • AHA, Apex, or AA CME for NIH Stroke Certification

All certifications must be verified within 30 days of commencement.

Job Details

This role involves working as a Registered Nurse at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Key details include:

  • Clinical review and automatic offer process
  • Inpatient Oncology unit located on 3 South, featuring a 28-bed adult acute care setup
  • A 15-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMU) and a Stem Cell Transplant Unit (SCTU)
  • Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4.04/29 or 05/13
  • Contract duration of 13 weeks
  • Nights shift availability
  • Options for 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Commitment to every other weekend and holiday
Job Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following:

  • ONS certification is mandatory; please attach the certificate with your submission
  • Submissions with the second half of the certification pending are acceptable
  • BLS and ACLS certifications are preferred but not required
  • Applications with a pending VA license will be considered
Schedule Information

The position entails a nights shift schedule with options for:

  • 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Every other weekend and holiday requirements
  • Maximum of 40 hours approved for time off
Unit Specific Information

The Inpatient Oncology unit is dedicated to providing specialized care for adult patients in acute hematology and oncology. A portion of the unit is allocated for intermediate care related to Stem Cell Transplant.

Additional Details

All candidates must provide proof of I-9 or Attestation. A government-issued photo ID is required and must be carried during service hours. ARC and AHA certifications for ACLS and BLS are accepted. It is essential to have photo identification on hand at all times while serving clients.
