Position Overview

Deliver exceptional and attentive customer service while ensuring that cakes are beautifully adorned and ready for customers to purchase or collect. You will also assist in addressing customer inquiries regarding cake selections and processing orders as necessary. Proficiency in writing neatly on cakes and applying frosting using various bakery tools (such as knives, piping bags, decorating tips, edible flowers, and airbrushes) is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional and attentive customer service while ensuring that cakes are artistically decorated and available for customer purchase or pickup.
• Follow instructions carefully and comply with stringent food preparation standards.
• Maintain proper handling and storage of all equipment at all times.
• Ensure cleanliness of the decorating area before commencing and after completing tasks.
• Assist customers by answering their questions about cake varieties and processing orders as needed.
• Travel Required: No

Skills Required

• Specialized Knowledge: Ability to apply common sense understanding to execute instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Capability to address issues involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Special Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting documents such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions for equipment, and procedural manuals; capable of writing routine reports; ability to communicate effectively; basic math skills; basic computer proficiency; regular vision.
• Physical Abilities: Ability to operate various equipment including mixers, ovens, fryers, proofers, pallet jacks, pan washers, slicers, balers/compactors, jelly pumps, and computerized label machines.

Experience Required

0-2 years: Previous experience in a bakery environment; cake decorating experience is highly preferred.
