Job Summary

As a Production Maintenance Technician at SunOpta, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our production equipment. This is a night shift position, working 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next, with every other weekend included.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform planned, corrective, and unplanned maintenance on specified equipment.
  • Use available documentation to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Ensure safety in the workplace by eliminating unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Support Quality Systems.
  • Protect Company assets by intervening in any condition resulting in the abuse of equipment or buildings.
  • Execute the preventive maintenance program as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
  • Maintain communication within the maintenance team to ensure smooth shift transitions.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two or more years related experience in a food grade facility.
  • Ability to understand and apply general mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aseptic processing and high-speed form/fill/seal packaging experience.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions and percentages.
  • Knowledge of business software and manufacturing software (HMIs, PLCs, and manufacturing controls).
